Youth Arts Professionals Summer Institute (YAPSI) is a program designed especially for artists with a passion for involving young people in the creative process.
It offers an intensive introduction to the philosophy and methodology of our Will Power to Youth program. YAPSI brings artists together to examine their practice as both teachers and artists, encouraging a sharing and exchange of successful methods.
Participants gain skills in conflict resolution and community building, as well as practice in both leading and designing workshops.
Past sessions have attracted a diverse group of artists some with decades of experience in the field and some young, dynamic professionals early in their careers.
The last YAPSI 2010 occurred June 28-August 23, 2010. Participants received: - The Will Power to Youth program manual
- Will Power to Youth 2010 curriculum development materials
- Mentorship from veteran Will Power to Youth staff
- Technical assistance with program planning
