Will Power to Schools

Our Will Power to Schools program offers middle school and secondary school teachers in-person professional development seminars, arts integration training projects, and innovative curriculum materials. This nationally-recognized program enhances the way teachers inspire meaningful classroom engagement related to the works of William Shakespeare. LAUSD teachers earn salary point credit.

Macbeth Graphic Novel

Our recent ground-breaking project, MACBETH: A Virtual Live-Action Graphic Novel, is representative of our innovative educational tools that have proven immensely popular with educators throughout Los Angeles and around the country. This inspired and original story-telling of Shakespeare's classic tale was broadcast on the PBS KLCS public media channel and features three-time Emmy award-winning actor Keith David. The hour-long program and accompanying curriculum and teacher training materials are available to educators by filling out the form below.

Please fill out this form if you would like to receive a copy of our Macbeth graphic novel, a link to our filmed production, and our accompanying study guide.

Student Matinees

Discounted and in some instances underwritten tickets are available to our mainstage productions and staged readings through our Student Matinees programming. Prior to the performance, teachers attend an in-person workshop focusing on how to teach Shakespeare and compare Elizabethan drama and contemporary issues. Each student receives a study guide followed by a post-show in-classroom workshop with a SCLA teaching artist. The goal is to create meaningful engagement and a genuine connection with the play and Shakespeare, as well as to prepare students for the theater-going experience.
