The Summer Shakespeare Youth Intensive invites young actors to immerse themselves in the necessary rigor to build classical theater performance techniques that will support them throughout their careers as students and professionals.
The two-week intensive offers juniors and seniors opportunities to explore acting techniques, build skills and confidence to work with classical texts, and begin to develop their craft for college and professional auditions.
Young actors will train in acting, voice, text analysis, movement, clowning, song, and ensemble creation, with some of the best classical actors and classical theater teachers as they adapt and rehearse a Shakespeare play that culminates in public performance.
The Summer Shakespeare Youth Intensive includes masterclasses with industry leaders, including monologue coaching for college and professional Shakespeare festival auditions.
Through a conservatory-style approach that builds ensemble and storytelling techniques, student actors are empowered to begin skill-building that will help them become agile, versatile actors.
